> Objectives
1.
Hanoi, the Capital of Vietnam, is coming to 1000th Anniversary
of Thang Long - Hanoi foundation (1010 - 2010). On this occasion
the State Steering Commission for 1000th Anniversary of Thang
Long in coordination with Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Clubs will
hold an international writing competition on "Hanoi Thousand
Years of Culture - The City for Peace".
2. The aims of the competition are
to strengthen the friendship between Vietnamese people and other
people in the world, promote the dialogues among civilizations,
share cultural values among nations, thus to make contribution
to the cause of peace and respond to the International Decade
for Culture of Peace launched by UNESCO and United Nations (2001
- 2010).
3. The project of this competition
was put forth and acknowledged at the 14th Session of Executive
Board Meeting of Asian Pacific Federation of UNESCO Clubs and
Association (AFUCA) held in Hanoi in September 2001. It called
upon the participation and coordination of all National Federations
of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations in Asian Pacific region
as over the world.
II
> Entrance
1.
The competition is launched officially in October 2002 in Hanoi
and will close in October 2004. The deadline for submission of
the papers over to jury is April 30, 2004.
2. The competition invites all individual
members of National Federations of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations
in Asia |
Pacific region and extends widely in over the world to those who
are not Vietnamese citizens and are working and living outside
the territory of Vietnam, regardless of ages.
3.
The guidance
and relevant information is carried constantly until October 2004
in English, French, Russian and Chinese language on mass media
of Vietnam including press, television, radio, Internet and other
resources. Printed matters are also sent to National Federation
of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations in each country in Asia
Pacific region. In meeting special requirement, information can
be sent to the individuals and groups in other countries.
4. Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Clubs
has an website in Vietnamese named as "MAI NHA CHUNG"
at: http://www.unet.org. vn/hanoi1000years
There is a special site in English on that website to publish
regularly information of the competition including Rules and Conditions,
guidance and relevant documents. The entrants can contact with
the Organizing Committee through this site at requirement.
III
> Submission
1.
1. Entrants must write their papers in following right order of
the given questions and items in each question.
2. Entrant paper should be written
in one of 5 following languages : English, French, Russian, Chinese
or Vietnamese.
3. Entrant papers must meet below
criteria :
- Both hand and type writing is acceptable, however type would
be encouraged.
- Entrant papers should be written or typed in A4 paper, font
size of 13 or 14 |

Picture or photographs are accepted to attached with the entrant
paper.
- No limit on pages.
- In the head of entrant paper entrants should write the title
of this competition as: The International Writing Competition
on "Hanoi Thousand Years of Culture - The City for Peace"
and give their full name, mailing address, telephones and e-mails
below there.
4.
The entrant papers must be sent directly to the Organizing Committee
through mailing, fax or e-mail before April 30th 2004 (according
to the date stamped on the parcel or received the fax or e-mail)
