News from the European Region In the heart of Europe, in Krakow, was held our first International Youth Forum, from the 4th to the 7th of July.More than sixty participants from Germany, Armenia, Belarus, Costa Rica, France, Greece, Morocco, Nepal, Philippines, Roumania and Ukraine were gathered in Krakow for a set of open debates, the first UNESCO Clubs exhibition, the " all around the world " art festival and the second edition of " Children Now " International day. "Dialogue between
civilizations" was the common topic of those events, a topic encompassed
in the Internatonal Decade for the Culture of Peace and Non-Violence,
in the 2000 world action program for youth and, above all, in the International
decade for the dialogue between civilizations. An official delegation
from the government of Philippines was present in Krakow and announced
its will to organize in 2003 the next International Youth Forum in Manilla.
This new way of meeting, with a perfect balance between debates, cultural
and artistic events found a great success within our members.
