"World Heritage in young Hands"
Conserving
World Heritage and the survival of our planet offers many unique
and multidisciplinary teaching and learning opportunities.
This
kit, addressed to secondary-school teachers and eventual other
users, includes a manual and other pedagogic supports suggesting
different students activities, inside or outside the classroom.
All those activities can be modified, developed according to the
local context. There are numerous activities as research, exercise,
role playing, visit paid to a World Heritage monument. One activity,
for example, consists in interviewing some people, in order to
gather information about war damages on important cultural building
and natural site, and their possible restoration.
Using
the manual is easy because there are a lot of nice pictures. The
kit proposes also 26 pictures of the World Heritage List and their
short descriptions. Those pictures will be useful to implement
some activities.
"World
Heritage in young Hands" includes also a "Map
of the World Heritage List", a poster, stickers and the
"World Heritage Convention". The kit is principally
targeted to young people, aged 14-18 years. The kit deals with
many fields: geography, history, languages, literature, science,
art
